This book shows the importance of grains in a healthy diet as part of the MyPlate guide. Cereal bread, rice and pasta are examples of this group. The journey of grain is shown from the seeds planted by the farmer to the mills and bakers to the table. Grains provide carbohydrates, vitamins, and fiber which are important to good health. The illustrations are done in the popular cartoon graphic form, which may entice non-readers to look at the book. The glossary, index, and bibliography at the back of the book encourage further learning.
