This book uses the new Choose My Plate.gov program to show children how to choose healthy foods at snack time. It refers to the five food groups and explains why it is important to make wise decisions about food. Each group is described with the agricultural basis and specific food examples are given. The illustrations are done in the popular cartoon graphic form, which may entice non-readers to look at the book. The glossary, index, and bibliography at the back of the book encourage further learning.
