2026 White-Reinhardt Grant Winners Selected
Six county Farm Bureaus have been chosen for the White-Reinhardt grant from nearly 100 applications.
We have awarded $6,000 in grants to 6 communities across the nation through the White-Reinhardt Fund for Education program. County and State Farm Bureaus apply for grants up to $1,000 in order to initiate new ag literacy programs or expand existing programs. We received nearly 100 applications and encourage the non-chosen applicants to try again in 2027!

Bond County Farm Bureau, IL
Bond County Farm Bureau is planning to expand its poultry unit and provide students with a three-week project focused on the life cycle of a chick. Currently, Bond County collaborates with three elementary schools and reaches approximately 895 kindergarten students. With this grant, they aim to extend the program to include additional students whose classes are currently on a waiting list to participate in this educational experience.
Essex County Farm Bureau, NY
Essex County has partnered with Minerva Central School District to expand its maple syrup sugaring program. This initiative has already benefited students from Pre-K through 12th grade. With the new grant, Essex County aims to sustain the sugaring program, providing continued opportunities for students to learn and practice industry techniques used in commercial sugar bushes.
Hampden County Farm Bureau, MA
Hampden County Farm Bureau has joined forces with Emergence Academy and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden to participate in the NASA-supported “Growing Beyond Earth” (GBE) program. Through this collaboration, 10th-grade Environmental students from Emergence Academy will have the opportunity to explore how crops can be grown efficiently in controlled environments to meet the nutritional needs of astronauts on future space missions.
Jefferson County Farm Bureau, OH
In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, Jefferson County intends to create a weeklong program during the county fair to showcase the significant milestones and advancements in the agricultural industry. To assist students in exploring the history of agricultural advancements, Jefferson County plans to purchase the AFBFA 2025 Book of the Year, “The Soil in Jackie’s Garden,” along with several other agricultural literacy resources.
Orange County Farm Bureau, CA
The Orange County Farm Bureau is planning to expand its current project, the "Precision Nature Lab." With the support of this grant, Orange County intends to enhance their nature center and gardens by acquiring professional-grade environmental monitoring equipment and specialized horticultural tools. They aim to implement a weather station and a network of soil sensors to transform the existing acre into a data-driven outdoor classroom.
Twin Falls County Farm Bureau, ID
The Twin Falls County Farm Bureau plans to develop a new mobile Agricultural Classroom (MAC) trailer unit focused on honeybees and pollination for K-12 students. Each year, the MAC trailer visits over 1,000 students in the local community. With this new initiative, they aim to educate students on the importance of pollination and the crucial role it plays in ensuring that their favorite foods are available in grocery stores.
