What's for Lunch, Milk
By Claire Llewellyn

Colorful, high-quality photographs complement the text and tell over half of this story. The book accurately depicts modern dairy production and processing with few exceptions. On the pages immediately following the accurate explanation of dairy production, the photo is of a beef cow, as the text explains why a cow can give milk. The next photo depicts cows feeding on silage in a confined area, but the text states that cows spend most of the year grazing in fields. The other images of modern dairy production and processing are rarely, if ever, depicted in children's books, making this a recommended addition. An excellent glossary will help build vocabulary.
