Watch this video of author Lisl Detlefsen reading her book, Right This Very Minute!

After reading the book, ask kids which farm was their favorite and why.

2. K-2 English/Literacy/Comprehension

A Visit to the Strawberry Patch” lesson, a line-by-line story activity, from the Right This Very Minute Educator’s Guide.

3. K-2 Science

Do the “From Start to Finish” Product Matching activity—another lesson from the Right This Very Minute Educator’s Guide.

After you finish the worksheet, take a tour of your kitchen—where do the foods in your home come from?

4. Grades 3-5 Geography and Science

After playing the game have your kids research what grows in your state! What is in season right now?

5. Grades 4-6 English Reading and Writing

Read this sustainability blog post.

After your kids read the blog, have them think of a way they can reduce food waste in your own home! Have them write a paragraph describing their idea.

6. K-12 Science

Watch the “How do Cranberries Grow?” video.

Before you watch the video ask “how do you think cranberries grow?” Then watch the video to see if they were right!
