$850 for 85 Challenge
Leading up to the 85th anniversary of the Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Program, the American Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee (AFBWLC) is challenging each state Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Committee to donate $850 to the White-Reinhardt Fund for Education. The fund was established to honor two former national committee chairs, Berta White and Linda Reinhardt, as advocates and leaders in promoting and raising the awareness of agricultural literacy. Deadline for awards is Nov 30th.
The AFBWLC is partnering with the AFBFA to offer incentives to two states who meet the challenge. Five reserved-seating tickets to the 2019 Flapjacks with the Foundation breakfast at the AFBF Annual Convention in New Orleans, including a copy of the AFBFA Book of the Year, and on-stage recognition to the states (valued at $350):
- Who first meets the donation goal of $850, and
- Who donates the most to the White-Reinhardt Fund for Education
Donations must be specifically for the White-Reinhardt Fund for Education and received by AFBFA no later than November 30, 2018.
The Apex Award
In 2017, in honor of our 50th Anniversary, we challenged states to donate 12% more than they did in 2016 to achieve the Apex Award! In 2017, 20 state Farm Bureaus received Apex Awards:

- North Dakota
- New Hampshire
- New York
- South Dakota
To qualify for the 2018 Apex Award, states must donate 10% more than they did in 2017.
The Scholar Award
The Scholar Award is given to 6 states – one from each member group – and is awarded to the state Farm Bureau with the highest total donations in that member group.

The Award of Excellence
The Award of Excellence is presented to a state Farm Bureau when all of the county Farm Bureaus and the state Farm Bureau donates to the Foundation. Delaware Farm Bureau received the Award of Excellence in 2017.
