Cris Peterson's first book tells the story of her own farm and the journey of milk from cow to mozzarella cheese on a pizza. It begins with the birth of a calf and acknowledgement that a cow must have a calf before she can give milk. The book details cattle feed (silage and grain), shows the herd being milked in a pipeline system, milk pick up and sampling, the cheese making process, and concludes with a recipe for cheese pizza. The book includes a glossary and list of books for further reading.
