The American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture is inviting your classroom to participate in a national pea growing contest. This contest is to celebrate our book of the year, First Peas to the Table, by Susan Grigsby published by Albert Whitman.

The 2017 First Peas to the Table Contest winner is...

Mary Tomlin’s third-grade class at Fayette Academy in Somerville, Tennessee. Tomlin’s classroom wins the grand prize – a visit from Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields!

The Fayette Academy 3rd Grade Pea Pickers planted 20 English Pea seeds in their school garden using garden mix soil and a 10' X 15' raised bed. They grew 8 cups of peas! Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all our participants.
