My American Farm Outreach Grants

We are looking for 10 schools to take part in our My American Farm Outreach Grant program for 2016. Upon completion of an agricultural outreach event, your school will receive $1,500 to further your efforts in sharing the importance of agriculture in our everyday lives. Apply to become one of the 10 schools below.
What is My American Farm?
MyAmericanFarm.org is an educational learning platform, which features more than 20 games about agriculture and free, standards-based lessons and resources for teachers. Visit the Share Our Story page to find turn-key resources for groups interested in outreach.
Who can apply?
Any middle or high school classroom that is willing to reach out to elementary classrooms during the Spring or Fall of 2016 by doing an agricultural outreach event.
What should this outreach event look like?
Outreach Event Checklist:
- Reach at least 400 students
- In a primarily urban area
- Utilize at least:
1 My American Farm Game
1 Lesson Plan or Activity Sheet
1 America’s Heartland Video
1 Community/Industry Representative or County Farm Bureau member

How would we report back on our outreach event if we were selected?
Include the following:
- Written or video blog of middle or high school students recapping experience
- Survey from teacher
- # of students reached
- List of My American Farm items used and community/industry representative
- 2 images of students facilitating activities
- Photo releases for any people included in photos
If you are one of the 10 classrooms selected, upon completion of your outreach activity, your classroom will receive $1,500 to use for further agricultural literacy efforts.
