Non-Traditional Educators

Look for this icon to indicate professional development events designed for those who design learning experiences in a non-traditional setting. If you work at a children’s museum, outdoor learning center, or other education effort outside the classroom, this may be a great fit!

If you come from the agriculture industry, or other agricultural literacy organizations, we would love for you to spread the word about this opportunity to friends and colleagues who are not as experienced with agriculture.

Health and Nutrition Education Influencers

Look for this icon to indicate professional development events designed for those who train or lead health and nutrition education initiatives. If you teach or work with those who teach health, nutrition or physical education, this may be a great fit!

Is This Program Free?

We are excited to offer these professional development events at no cost to participants! Here’s what we’ll provide for selected participants:

  • Up to $750 of approved travel expenses reimbursed. *Approved expenses include flight, mileage, rental car, public transportation, food en-route. Alcoholic beverages will not be reimbursed. Additional details will be provided to selected applicants.
  • Hotel accommodations for 3 nights (single occupancy)
  • All meals during event
  • Transportation to tours during event
  • All supplies and resources
  • Event registration

What About?

Can I get Continuing Education Units?

Participants will have the opportunity to earn 1 unit of 800 level professional development credit through California State University, Chico. Participants should check with their district or employer to determine the appropriate use for this credit. Learn more about 800 level course designation.

How many People will be Selected?

The On The Farm experience is an intimate learning environment with 30-40 participants selected by application for each event.
